A Champion's Mindset, A Coach's Heart

At Diesel Optimization in Tampa Florida, we believe great coaches are made through experience—and few have a résumé as compelling as Cassidy’s. A Florida native and former Florida State University softball star, Cassidy brings championship pedigree and rehab expertise to every athlete she trains.

Whether you're stepping onto the field for the first time or gunning for a college scholarship, Cassidy’s story proves she knows exactly what it takes to succeed—and recover—at the highest level.

From Florida State to Diesel Optimization

Cassidy started playing softball at age five, and her career skyrocketed from there. She played at Florida State University, where she:

  • Won the 2018 NCAA National Championship

  • Was the National Runner-Up in 2021

  • Captured three ACC Conference Championships

  • Was ranked 8th all-time for home runs at FSU upon graduation

  • Held the record for career relief appearances in program history

Before college, she dominated the local scene at Newsome High School, where she was named 2016 Hillsborough County Player of the Year and won a state championship.

She played every position from pitcher and outfielder to designated hitter, making her the ultimate utility player—and now, a highly versatile coach.

Turning Injury Into Purpose: The Path to Physical Therapy

Cassidy’s journey wasn’t without obstacles and challenges that would have deterred many. Throughout her career, she bravely overcame a torn hip labrum, multiple concussions, a torn hamstring, and even a few broken noses, each setback presenting its own unique set of difficulties. However, rather than slowing her down or diminishing her spirit, her injuries served as sources of inspiration. Each time she faced adversity, Cassidy found the strength to rise above, fueling her determination to push harder and strive for greatness in her pursuits.

That personal experience fueled her passion for physical therapy. Today, she helps other athletes heal from injury and return stronger than ever—physically and mentally.

“Helping my athletes and clients achieve their goals—sports-related or not—still gives me that same adrenaline rush I felt competing.”

Why Cassidy’s Softball Program Stands Out

What sets Cassidy apart from other softball coaches in Tampa?

  • Real-world experience: She’s trained and competed at the highest level.

  • Dual expertise: She’s both a softball coach and licensed PT, offering injury-prevention insights most coaches can’t.

  • Softball-specific rehab: She creates customized return-to-play programs tailored to the unique mechanics of softball, which differ from baseball.

From middle school beginners to future collegiate athletes, Cassidy adapts every training program to the player’s goals—whether it’s mastering fundamentals or sharpening competitive edge with pitch sequencing and mental prep.

“If you’re learning from me, you’re learning from someone who’s done it—and knows what it takes to get there.”
